Our Story
Family owned and operated since 1992, Jonathan’s has become one of the premier independent restaurants on Long Island.
At the helm is Jonathan Mavrikis, who in the early 90’s sought to take his years of restaurant experience and open an elite American establishment near his home town of Garden City.
With the help of his son and his nephew they found the location of a shuttered Howard Johnson’s on the corner of Jericho Turnpike & Herricks Road. Since then, Jonathan’s has become one of Long Island’s most desirable culinary landmarks, known for its innovative menu of daily seasonal specials that blend contemporary American and Mediterranean flavors, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood and premium cut steaks. Committed to consistency in both quality and service, our team strives to provide each guest with a delicious and unforgettable experience.
A Team of Second-Generation Restaurateurs
Founder Jonathan Mavrikis, known to many as Mr. John, celebrating his retirement with his trusted team of over 20 years, alongside his son Dean Mavrikis (Partner since 2006), nephew Peter Kalamaras (Partner since 1998), and Frank Billera (Partner since 2006).
